Born in Trieste in 1982, Lorenzo Cossi began studying piano at the age of seven, later obtaining his diploma at the Conservatorio di Musica “G. Tartini” in Trieste. He has performed at the Amici della Musica of Padova, Amici della Musica of Mestre, Associazione “F. Soldano” in Brescia and the Società dei Concerti in Milan. Mr. Cossi has studied at the Sermoneta International Music Campus in Latina, Italy, and at the Lake Como International Piano Academy.
In April 2003 he won first prize at the Marizza Competition in Trieste. In 2004 he took home third prize at the Premio Venezia Competition in Venice. In 2012 he won a special prize at the 58th Maria Canals International Competition in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Cossi received a standing ovation for his interpretation of Brahms’ first concerto with the Calgary Philarmonic Orchestra. Mr. Cossi teaches at the Ars Nova Academy in Trieste and is often invited as a juror to national and international competitions. He has recorded for RAI, Radio Popolare and Radio Classica.
